Blizzard Conditions Lead to Multiple Pile-Ups on Wyoming Interstate

Interstate 80 in Wyoming, between the capital of Cheyenne and nearby Laramie, was the scene of three separate pile-up accidents involving roughly six dozen vehicles on Thursday when a storm dumped nearly a foot of snow on the area resulting in blizzard conditions.
According to Robert Garrison of 9News.com, a long stretch of the highway was shutdown on Thursday as a result of the accidents, which injured 22 people, including six with critical to serious injuries.
Fortunately, no deaths were reported.
KOAA News 5 tweeted a photo from the scene:
FOX 21 News director and anchor Joe Cole provided a closer look:
Garrison reports that only about 20 of the vehicles involved in the pile-ups were passenger vehicles, the rest being commercial vehicles. The blockade formed by the pile-up accidents led to other motorists being stranded.
Some of the stranded motorists were transported via bus to a nearby hospital for shelter from the storm.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Wyoming released a detailed forecast for overnight Thursday into Friday:
